"WELCOME TO FAYETTE" MUSICAL
AT THE FAYETTE OPERA HOUSE

Picture
Following the parade on Saturday, guests will be swept away on a musical adventure to learn a little history about Fayette during the Fayette Sesquicentennial Musical, “Welcome to Fayette!”. Area students, under the direction of Karla Bicknese and Lexi Zupke, will take the stage to share four different ways of traveling to Fayette throughout history. Find out what drew the indigenous people to our area by foot after the Louisiana Purchase. Hear how covered wagons that traveled on the Mission Road brought pioneers who eventually needed schools for their children. Learn the long, complicated process it was to bring the railroad through Fayette and how it brought 9 children to town on the Orphan Train. The musical will conclude with showing the well-known places in Fayette that we travel to by car. The performance is free and will be held in the historic Fayette Opera House in downtown Fayette at 1pm.
